This 'timeline' has been an exercise in further developing my conceptual ideas by physically engaging in a process of interrogation. I have analysed the transformative elements of the site and surrounding Makara Beach area comparing the duration qualities. For example a rock changing shape over hundreds of years the daily transformations of day and night, the tides etc. Mapping these elements in a overlaying manner has allowed me to draw upon different associations.
This has evolved into a concept exploring the juxtaposition of duration.
This process emphasized the conceptual manner in the size I performed this process, the length of the timeline meant I had to roll alongside, back and forth in order to lay and map out the different elements and compare the duration and times between them.
