After working with the transformational qualities of the site and surrounding areas and comparing the durations and time element I am now exploring the State House I am relocating into the site and looking at how this space/spaces within the house will operate and have their own durational qualities.
I began to 'deconstruct' the space by tieing knots in string to represent each action that would be carried out throughout a typical day. I then cut the string up so each knot was seperated and then distributed these into the area the action/time was spent. This allowed me to analyse the rituals and time spent in each space so I was able to design according to which space had more value - for example alot of time spent in the living area.
This informed how I treated the structure in what walls I have taken out etc.
