Parti Model

This parti model was created as a development from the explorations from my research methods. This particular model brought two 'blank pages' together, in which I had filled with markings and discovered through, by mind mapping. A central point is created between the two 'pages' and thoughts and occurring between these.

The central point of the model originally represented the beginning, in that it was the key word which informed my thinking however this model has now illustrated a dialogue between the boundary and the central core.

This model has informed my 'conversation' conceptual approach in both my research methods and Starfish concept.

The model has physically generated a space between two.
- Two things that generate an idea between them
- Activating a spark between two thoughts
- Creating a moment
- Juxtaposition between two

I therefore want to further explore ideas surrounding:
(These ideas are already explored, in particular in my research methods/theory, however could be explored in a more practical way through model making perhaps?)
- Transition
- Pull-apart
- Boundries, Temporary boundries
- Containment
- Tension between two

Below are two diagrams in which I thoughtfully unpicked this 'Space between two'. This parti model has informed this concept which will inform the spatial concept for the Starfish temporary retail environment. I feel it has a strength for my concept of 'igniting conversation' as it has pushed this idea forward rather than explore this idea in a literal way I am now exploring this in a more conceptual way. It is not just about igniting conversations with other people it is more about generating conversations with space, objects, and oneself as a reflection of the philosophy and ethos of Starfish. Exploring the way the body converses with the space and the way interpersonal conversations are created as the body moves converses with the space.
When unpicking these ideas in the diagrams below I tried to simply the ideas down and relate them back to Starfish's philosophies and practices, in creating a space between 2 thoughts.
